2023 Wine tasting
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF NURSING
The Ohio State University College of Nursing hosted a wine tasting fundraiser for their alumni and donors in 2023. I had the opportunity to design the brand identity of the event.
The approach
Every year the College of Nursing hosts a wine tasting event for their alumni and donors, featuring a specific place in the world. In 2023, the theme was Italy, highlighting Italian wines. Without having a specific region of Italy, I kept the initial design broad with an illustration based on Italian cafes and outdoor seating areas. From the brand’s color palette, I went with warm colors to create an inviting and nostalgic atmosphere while also adding scarlet and a buckeye leaf to tie in the OSU brand. Once approved by the team, I used elements from the illustration to create an overall look and feel.
You’re invited!
With the look and feel established, I created email and print invitations. The print invitation was designed as a wafer sealed self-mailer and mailed to 446 alumni. The back middle panel contained the recipient address in compliance with USPS guidelines.
Wayfinding
Wayfinding signage was created and placed in key areas of the event space.
The event
In addition to the signage, a program was created detailing the menu and wine pairings. A PowerPoint template was also made available for speakers to use which helped continue the cohesive look and feel of the event.
